- The City of Baldwin City is currently seeking a full-time Fire Chief to lead the city's fire department. Position is responsible for equipment, budget, supervision and training of volunteer fire personnel, and coordination of fire protection and suppression efforts. Successful candidate will have five or more years fire fighting experience with minimum two years supervisory experience as a Lieutenant or higher rank. The City or Baldwin City is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Worker I. This position is non-exempt under FLSA. This employee performs semi-skilled work in the repair and maintenance of City water lines, sewer lines, streets, alleys, and parks. This employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, effective communication and public relation skills. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Kansas Commercial Drivers license or the ability to obtain one with in six months of hire. One to two years of experience is preferred.
