Our Community

Nestled just south of Lawrence, KS in the heart of the Vinland Valley, you'll find Baldwin City, KS. A wonderful small community of approximately 3600 people, Baldwin City is home to Kansas' oldest four-year college, Baker University.

Incorporated in 1870, Baldwin City operates under a Mayor/Council form of government. Baldwin City elects one mayor and five at-large city council members who rotate in 4-year terms. The City Council meets in regular session on the first and third Monday of each month. Meeting time is 7:30 p.m. in the American Legion Hall at City Hall.
