About the City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk’s Office performs administrative duties for the City of Baldwin City. The City Clerk’s Office maintains control of all municipal, personnel, and legal records. The City Clerk's Office coordinates requests for records in accordance with the Kansas Open Records Act and provides a city Request for Public Information Document. The City Clerk’s Office has a substantial amount of public contact regarding the furnishing of information concerning city ordinances and policies. 

Work assignments are prescribed in state statutes and city ordinances and received from the City Administrator, the City Council, and citizen requests. The City Clerk’s Office handles important, confidential documents that relate to city policy and collaborates with the City Administrator in order to carry out the goals set by the City Council.
